We have a female that has been coming to my property for the last few years every spring to have a litter. I've seen her a few times, but she never bothers anyone.

I've asked the game wardens if we have mountain lions in southeastern NC, and they say "no". I then asked:if they're not here then I can shoot them? Their answer was an instant "no", which tells me they know big cats are around.

Stinky Alaskan food mention reminded me of Zimmerman's Bizarre Food show where he got with some old Inuits.
They have a "delicacy" called stink heads. They take the left over salmon heads, put them in a burlap sack, put it in the cold river for at least two months then pull it out and eat. Zimmerman's not known to be squeamish, but his evaluation of them was....nasty ammonia foul tasting stuff. He gagged and the old women laughed at him and ate the rotten stink heads like potato chips.
The young Inuits.....won't touch the stink heads.
