Now, I know all the rifles have their pro's and con's but as mentioned above, I am kinda leaning towards the 6.8. I know it is a bit on the lite side, but I shoot really accuartely with it (which I also do with the other rifles-) I don't know.. I guess what I am looking for is for someone to tell me the 6.8 is to light of a rd at farther distances and just to go with the .06 or .300WM.

From what I have read, is that the 6.8 is probably not the gun of choice if I will be shooting farther than 300+ yards. What do you guys think? I think in order for me to take a mulie home from Idaho, I better be ready for 300+ yad shoots. That's why I am kinda crossed between both. BTW, both rifles have 3x9x40 scopes-Leupold on the AR15 and Bushnell on the .300WM.

I will be shootin SSA 115gr. Sierra OTM ammo which I was told is not intended for hunting, but does a pretty darn good job on deer(for the 300 WM I have Reminington 160gr. Core Lokt) Here is the trajectory table for the 6.8 ammo I have -From 16" Barrel:

    2550 FPS, YDS./IN. 100yds/1.3", 200yds/0", 300yds/-9.6", 16" BBL, 1-10 twist
    Take the 300,
If you were pushing a 110 Accubond at 2800+ I would say the 6.8 would be fine to 300 but factory ammo at 2550 is not going very fast past 100 and you need at least 1700 to ensure they projectile will expand effectively.
Dont take a chance on an expensive hunt. If you lived out here and could walk off into the forest everyday like I can then maybe.
Don't get caught outgunned, step up to the 6.8mm

I would say the 300 also due to distance estimated and it is the greatest round ever. But I am biased.

In all sense if you have a truck then take both and see what you get. If it was me I would take both. But I am also the dumbass that would try chasing them with a bow also. So that should answer a few questions.

I still say TAKE TWO GUNS! That's what the gun rack is for in a truck. Isn't it?
