Any one make their own AR tools?

I made a receiver vice block from some scrap wood. Took all of about 3 minutes, but of course I have a complete wood shop.

While I was at it, I took a bolt sized to fit the takedown pins, drilled a hole through it, cut off the head, smoothed it up and put a knob on it. Super easy to make.

Going to see if I can make a support block for installing the trigger guard pin.

Semicop showed me how to make a dimple jig. Cost about $13 to make it.

Easily made with a cheap gas block.

The handful of barrels I have purchased in my life have always been dimpled from the factory. No wonder I couldn't think of what a dimple jig might be used for.

Er.... Uh.... I mean my friend couldn't think of it.

    Thanks

I like set screw gas blocks and not all manufacturers dimple the barrels, Faxon being one of them.

Never seen the need for a dimple but that is just me.

I'm getting tooled up to build an upper and probably going to make a barrel vise out of aluminum.
