Default Converting your SAAMI Chamber to a SPCII. SS or Chrome.

There are 4 Michiguns Reamers going out. The Reamers belong to:
    1. MikeS-54
    2. pth3k
    3. dr dues
    4. marinesg1012

If anyone is interested in getting their SAAMI Chambered 6.8SPC barrel converted to the SPCII Chamber, I have the SPCII Reamer from Michiguns Ltd..
It comes with a built-in dummy stop, so all you have to do is open the upper receiver, remove the bolt group, drop in the reamer with some oil, and slowly turn it in (clockwise only, never reversing it), using a lot of turns and very little pressure. The handle centers itself in the upper receiver. When ithe reamer bottoms out on the chamber's shoulder it will spin freely-- it has stopped cutting and you are done.
I will just make a list like I did with the Pin Gauges and send out the reamer so you guys can convert your SAAMI Chambers to the SPCII Chambers. The price will be $30, which will include shipping. I will send you the reamer and when you are done, just return it to me with the $30. Cash, Check, Money Order, or discrete PayPal is accepted.

    INSTRUCTIONS:
First and foremost, NEVER turn it counter-clockwise, not even when removing it. Use plenty of good cutting oil and hardly any pressure. Point the muzzle down on a rag to catch excess oil and to protect the muzzle. Let gravity do the work. Turn it a few times, maybe ten at most, remove and clean out any shavings from the flutes on the reamer. Stop turning or continue turning clock-wise while you remove it. Re-oil and do it again. A little downward pressure won't hurt anything but don't hog it in. Take your time, pay attention (as no TV, IPOD, or other distractions), and when you feel it stop cutting you're done. I'd say it took me all of 20 minutes to do two rifles not including the time to take the rifles down or clean them up afterwards.
The only real way to screw up is turning it the wrong direction, using way too much pressure, and not cleaning the reamer every few turns, again, I'd say go no more than 10 turns before cleaning.
Then clean the dickens out of the chamber, barrel, and barrel extension, but there should not be any shavings in the barrel extension. Still, clean it very well anyway just to make sure.

NOTE: If you have more than one barrel, feel free to drop the Reamer down all of the barrels to make sure they are all SPCII Chambers.

For the guys that have tested their SAAMI Chambered Barrels:
After you have converted your SAAMI Chamber to the SPCII Chamber, can you test some of the same ammo and report back if the accuracy has changed?

NOTE: When shipping the Reamer, please ship it with a tracking number and insurance. I highly recommend using the USPS Small Flat Rate box because it is the most affordable.

Also, when you receive the Reamer, please respond to the E-Mail by hitting the "REPLY TO LL" button and indicated that you received the Reamer. Also, when you ship the Reamer, please respond to the E-Mail by hitting the "REPLY TO LL" button and indicated that you have shipped the Reamer to (Person's Name) and provided Tracking Number. This will be very helpful so that everyone knows where the Reamer is and the next guy waiting for it knows it is on his way to him.

Mines on the way. Hot-dang! Now, refresh my memory about the directions regarding the red "sent" markings. Who do I send the money and reamer back to on this reamer?

Update: 5-6-09. Still not arrived yet so next in line don't blame me for taking so long. It must be coming Pony Express!
5-07-09. Got it, used it, and ready to send it on. Good old Richmond postal service. I think they kicked it to me most of the way and that takes a long time!
TonyW, it is on its way to you in the morning, USPS PM. As close as you are to me you might get it Saturday.

That reamer belongs to "pth3k", so send hm an IM when you are done for the payment. I'll send you an IM with the name and address of the next guy to send it to.

Are you sure you don't want me to remove you from the lower one?

    Talking After Conversion

Shot my newly reamed Noveske 14.5" today - 1/10" polygonal. No actual comparison of accuracy from before since I was testing heavier loads for signs of over-pressure. Previously, SSA cases with 28.5 gr. of H322 with V-Max 110 gr would show some signs of flattened primers. Today I shot V-Max with up to 29 gr. with no problems. Also shot Sierra 90 gr Varminter JHP with up to 31 gr. of H322 - No problems. Shooting without really letting the barrel cool, the most accurate load seemed to be 30.7 gr with the 90 gr Varminter -- at 100 yards, 4 shots in .75" with a flyer which made the 5 shot group 1.25". The Varminter bullets seemed more accurate than the V-Max ones in the powder ranges I tried.

I fired some of my old Rem reloads that used Win LR primers (hoping not to have a slam fire),28.5 gr. H322, with V-Max bullets, then switched to SSA cases with the Wolf SRM meant for the 5.56.( I recently managed to get 5000 of these) and 28.7 gr. of H322. I was surprised that the point of impact at 100 yards was 2" higher with the hotter load and Wolf primers- indicating much higher velocity. I don't have a chrono.

The varmiter bullets are probably one of the most accurate bullets for the 6.8 especially compared to the Vmax's....
