    The Olympic Arms UMAR lower receiver will allow loading this to 2.4" making it a perfect fit for the 270AR. It really allows loading the bullets out near the lands to gain accuracy.

    NOTICE---These are near max loads for the reason above. Be careful when using formed 308 brass start with a load at least 3 gr lower and workup. Accuracy will most likely be found 1/2gr -1gr below the max loads.

    Quick testing in the shop today 59degrees-
    Lapua brass, CCI450 primers, 20" production barrel, All bullets loaded to 2.300

    37gr H335=2939fps@58kpsi
    38gr CFE=2794@50Kpsi- max case fill

    130 Berger #27501
    36gr H335=2787@57kpsi
    38grCFE=2723@51kpsi-max case fill
    34gr N530=2820fps@58kpsi

    Any loads approaching 57-58k should be considered maximum usable load.

    10/18/13-Using Creedmoor brass CCI BR4 primers, 20" barrel. The lands in this chamber are a little closer (.025) than the 6.8s so the same COAL can be used. IMO there is plenty of velocity here with the 130gr bullets.

    Pretty easy to see which powders will work best with each weight bullet after today.
    85s and 90s- Re7, 2200, 1200R--------3300+ from 20" barrel
    100-10X, 2230, H322, 748, BLC2------3050-3100
    110-10X, 8208, N530,H335------------2950-3000
    120-8208, N530-------------------------2850-2900
    130-8208,N530--------------------------2750-2800

    - 18" barrel--I think the burn rate of CFE, Varget, RE15 and AR Comp is a little slow for optimum velocities.
    37gr CFE223, not max pressure. 110gr HPBT=2855fps chrono did not read above 37gr. 40gr was not max pressure.
    37gr CFE223, not max pressure. 120gr SST=2736
    39gr CFE223, Max pressure 120gr SST=2860 primer starting to flatten, no cratering.
    38gr CFE223, 130gr Berger=2692fps-no signs of pressure.

    pictures of the primers lowest charge is always bottom left then i work up each row to the right.

    i think it maybe unlocking early because of over gassing. next time out i won't forget my allen wrench for the adjustable gas block.

    form with redding bushing die no bushing


    expand with nat27 mandrel

    yes that would still be an ok starting point in my opinion, h did all his testing with 2.295 and he was above that also so you should be good to go from there.

    Try these loads at your own risk, each brass processing and brass can be different. Start low and work up.
    I was overgassed and the darn allen wrench didn't want to turn the gas block screw, so will be retesting some.
    PRI Gen 1 magazine feed perfectly.
    I wasn't really checking groups, will test again without the Magnetospeed attached to the barrel and once-fired cases with the shoulder bumped appropriately.

    For these loads:

    this is my finalized load for the 130 pulls i have. did more research and think the pulls are speer grand slam 130's

    lapua cases
    rem 7 1/2 primers
    cases neck turned and neck reamed
    oal is 2.27 or 1.912 to ogive.

    38 grains of CFE for a velocity of 2800 fps

    Any thoughts on what causes the vertical-horizontal-vertical between the 1.894- 1.897- 1.900?
