I've used the PEPR and several types of bolt on and QD rings, and as long as you make sure you're in the right rail slot and push the mount forward against the front of the slot before tightening they are very close to zero. To test how close the return to zero is I shoot a five-shot group, remove the optic, put the optic back on, then fire another five-shot group at a different target. Do that a few times and you'll be able to see how well the mount works. If you square your receiver faces you can usually swap scopes between uppers and be close to zero.
