A barrel vise and rosin maybe?
I bought my AR-15 and LR-308 assembled, even though I picked out the individual parts for the builds. Now that I own them, I find myself wanting to tinker more, but I didn't have all the tools to do so. Today, I placed an order with Midway for a few items.
DPMS Upper Receiver Action Block - Delrin
DPMS Multi-Tool for AR-15 - Steel
Yankee Hill Machine Wrench Free Float Tube Handguard - AR-15 steel (I have a YHM tube installed that required this wrench)
I already had a Delrin Pin Punch, and I have a decent assortment of gunsmith screwdrivers, allen wrenches, roll pin punches, standard punches, and other assorted common hand tools (wrenches, pliers, etc...)
Anything more that I should consider adding to this toolbox?
All the best,
Glenn
A barrel vise and rosin maybe?
"You and I are told we must choose between a left or right, but I suggest there is no such thing as a left or right. There is only an up or down. Up to man's age-old dream -- the maximum of individual freedom consistent with order -- or down to the ant heap of totalitarianism. Regardless of their sincerity, their humanitarian motives, those who would sacrifice freedom for security have embarked on this downward path." -- Ronald Reagan
Thanks Stack. I'll look into that. I just brought up a tutorial on using them.
All the best,
Glenn

Barrel vise to hold the barrel to remove and install the flash hider. If you do not use one you might damage the upper and the indexing pin on the barrel.

Thank you. The tutorial I bought up was a bit confusing. It was for barreling and timing of a FN FAL, from what I can gather. I found it here: http://www.frontlinearmory.com/vise/vise1.htm
I was scratching my head, wondering if I actually needed one or not for my AR. Your explanation helped clear up the need for one. Any brand in particular, and where can I buy one? Midway didn't really list anything when I did a search for it. They did have Rosin though.
All the best,
Glenn
I made mine out of a pc piece of oak. I cut it down the middle and then made a V block.

A rubber mallet, and a brass head hammer.
Torque wrench. And if you're like me, hydrogen peroxide and band-aids.
Often heard at my home, "Mom, dad needs the first-aid kit again".
Upper receiver lapping tool
A good strap wrench
A good torque wrench
I always use blue painters tape to prevent scratches too.
N/M, missed it in post above.
