Welcome to the site!
Hello
New to the site. Waiting on my 6.8 upper to arrive and in the mean time I've been looking around for some ammo. The only thing I've found locally is Hornady 110gr Vmax. I don't reload so that option is out. Are there any local shops around the KC area that carry 6.8 or is my best bet to just order it in from SSA and the likes? I'm going to take my AR out to Wyoming in October for some antelope and would like to find some sst's, accubonds, or gamekings for out there. Thanks.
Ryan

Best bet is to order online. Just be sure to buy a minimum of 200 rds to amortize the shipping and handling.

300 AAC Blackout Chambering Cancelled:
Some time ago, Savage announced it would be chambering the Model 10 Precision Carbine in 300 AAC Blackout. Since that time, we have tested many variants of this cartridge in various barrel lengths and rates of twist. This exhaustive testing left us quite unsatisfied with the accuracy we were able to get from the subsonic loads in this chambering. Accuracy with the lighter, faster loads in this caliber was actually quite good. But we believe the real value in this cartridge lies in the use of subsonic loads for suppressed rifles. Therefore we have decided to scrap the project.
It is our understanding that pushing these heavy, slow bullets presents challenges not found in typical loadings and that our experience is not unique. Subsequently, many in the industry have simply adopted a lower standard for accuracy for these subsonic loads. While this does seem reasonable and we don't criticize any in our industry that have taken this approach, it just won't work for Savage.
Our brand was built on accuracy and we are too protective of our reputation for building the most accurate factory rifles available. We would rather walk away from this opportunity than sell a product that requires an explanation.

Cabelas usually carries SSA 110otm and S&B and sometimes Remmington. Price will be stiff on the SSA compared to the sale going on right now at SSA online.
Online is the way to go, but Cabela's has been good about keeping 6.8 on the shelves. Last time I was there (KC store), they had hornady, ssa, and HSM.
Great Guns in Liberty ... but all they had was V-Max ... I did pick up a box of 120SST from them a few months back.
Cabelas like others have mentioned.
I would stick with online retailers if you don't reload.
Good To Go Ammo ( 6.8 not listed on their site - you have to email them ).

- If you don't wanna stand behind your troops, maybe you should try standing between them and harms way.
I also order online, but Cabela's carries it.
Then He said to them, “But now, he who has a money bag, let him take it, and likewise a knapsack; and he who has no sword, let him sell his garment and buy one.
And Psalm 26:5 for good measure
Thanks for the replies guys. I've found a little bit here and there and will more than likely order it in bulk online in the future. Just need to find what ammo my upper likes and go from there.
