That's easy... get another 6.8 upper for your AR and go shoot up your ammo.![]()
I originally got into the 6.8 game to use an AR for hunting and dual purpose. Well I sold my 6.8 upper and I just don't see myself playing the niche AR caliber game anymore, BUT, I like the cartridge for its utility. I also have a crap ton of ammo.
What are my firearm options besides the AR? I know Remmington made a 6.8 bolt gun, but they seem to be expensive and hard to find. The ruger mini is out since its not fundamentally different than the AR platform. It doesn't look like there is a Handi-Rifle in 6.8, but I assume there is a T/C Encore option? I never got an answer from Mossberg about the MVP in 6.8 so I don't know if I can wait that out...
Anyway guys, lets hear what my options are...

You should SEE how tight my rifle groups single shots !!!
I guess I wonder why you sold it just to try and reinvent the wheel especially leaving orphaned ammo? I would have no option for the 6.8 AR other than an AR10...

1. 6.8 SPCII Delton Upper, ARP 16" Scout barrel, Vortex MD, Spikes Lower RRA match trigger, MI Gen 2 SS OD 12" handguard, Magpul OD CTR Butt stock, Ergo OD grip, Redfield 3-9x40, Hornady 120 SST/Barnes 110 TSX
You may be able to find a used or new and yet unsold ruger hawkeye. They don't make them anymore but I have one and its been a great little gun. I also have an AR in 68 but prefer the ruger bolt gun. They may still make encore's in 68, it's been a while since I've checked. Or you may be interested in building one off of a savage or stevens action like others have done.
I gotcha, that makes sense, If I had the $$ I would order an ARP just the way I wanted it!

If I could get a 6.8 Handi Rifle I would....Can you get barrel blanks for those and have someone ream it and install it yourself? I may have to jump over to the grey beards forums again and see. Didn't find much the last time I searched for 6.8 stuff...
Stag makes an affordable 6.8 upper with great CS if needed.

Gunbroker has several NIB Ruger bolt actions in 6.8 every time I've looked - and that was quite often till a few weeks ago when I finally bit the bullet and bought a Remington LTR bolt gun NIB. I seem to see the Mini-14 (6.8) come up pretty often as well. Just looked and there is one Ruger compact NIB for sale and a Remington LTR that is NIB available at Gunbroker (http://www.gunbroker.com/Bolt-Action...x?Keywords=6.8).
JerBear has provided some great inspiration (and experience) for anyone interested in building a custom 6.8 using a Stevens model 200 in .223 - at a final price that is well below what I paid for the Remmy LTR, I should add. Search some of the threads on bolt actions and you will certainly come across JerBear's posts - along with several others.
With just a bit of effort you should be able to get your hands on a bolt action 6.8 (Ruger, Remington or modified Stevens), or a Mini-14 (6.8). Looks like Thompson/Center offers the 6.8 in their Contender (http://www.tcarms.com/firearms/g2Contender.php - click on the Specifications tab for available calibers) as well.
Good luck.
The 6.8mm SPC was created with the AR platform in mind... If you want a bolt gun, you might as well kick the caliber up a notch!
BTW... Nice rack Ratdog68!![]()
