Default .22 conversion not working so great

I need to pick some brains, mine is worn out. I have a CMMG .22 conversion bolt, magazine and bolt stop adapter for one of my 5.56 guns. I used it for hundreds of rounds on another AR without any issues. I swapped out lowers and sold the other and now it jams " sticks the bullet up in the charging handle" every 5 to 10 rounds. I've done everything I can think of to the conversion kit itself. Im down to thinking it has to be the lower or maybe an adjustment in the bolt stop adapter that came with the kit. Any ideas.

The Mag is being held just a shade higher up in the receiver in the weapon that the jams are occuring in. There are a couple of fixes for that. Typically I have files down the feed lips a bit to prevent the empty casing from hitting them during extraction and being forced up instead of out.

    Good luck.
