Default A big boar shot this past weekend, and more

The hog hunting has been just incredible this year. Our success rate is 100% on every hunt we've taken since November of 2011, all the way through Fall and Spring, and now Summer 2012. My Client, J, has decided to return four times this year, and he has not struck out once yet. He shot this huge boar with his new Noveske Rogue Lightweight hunter and a T-60 graciously sent to us by Sierra Pacific Innovations, for T & E. We used the Barnes 110 TSX, factory loaded by SSA, in a Tac load. The T-60 was mounted in front of a Zeiss 4.5-14 X 50 scope.

We finished dinner, which happened to be wild hog tenderloin cooked in a Dutch oven covered with bacon and Corky's Apple Barbecue sauce. When we were done, I walked out on to the porch and looked into the shooting range with my M24. There was a huge heat signature out there around 600 yards out, so I told everyone to get their gear, and off we went. We stalked to within 100 yards, and shot him in the heart. This time, we actually found a very copious blood trail, and we found him just 30 yards from the place he'd been shot. Bullet performance was perfect again, as usual with the Barnes. The T-60 was great (separate write up in progress).

Always a hoot to eyeball the hogs you're downing.

We didn't weight this one, because he was the first of the night, and we were just on the first stalk. We took our photos, went on to shoot other pigs, and we didn't come back to get him. I guess I should start weighing some of these, but I am guessing he was right around 275-280, judging from how he felt when I dragged him to the flat ground for the photo.
