Sounds about right. I've got an indoor range 5 minutes from the house but I only use it for quick sighting in or function checks. I always wear double hearing protection, immediately wash my clothes, and take a shower because of all the lead in the air.

I personally didnt care much for the indoor range. To me part of being able to shoot is the fun of just being outdoors. Maybe if I shot a lot inside it wouldn't feel as awkward. It's def. LOUD I had a good set of muffs and it was still loud. And it stinks lol.

I'm always "tasting" it for a couple of hours after indoor....plus blowing a bunch of black crap out of my nose (sorry for the visual).

Yeah, definitely loud. I went last time home and wished I'd brought double protection.

I have shot at high end and lower end facilities and you all get exposed to more lead in daily life (cheap chinese anything, etc) than you will ever want to know, but make sure your kids don't get exposed to clothes or such as it more adversly affects there development and bone denesity.

My dad so enjoys my flash supressor on my rock river, not no where as ever hateful as the boss on my 300 wssm, nothing like being deaf for 2 days with plugs in.
