Yea your probably $50-$60k per hell fighter. But look at the other side because I say they are saving money.

The average boot through camp costs the government $50k to train just in basic. Doesn't include other training past that.

Plus those were SF which is exponentially more in cost per person to train.

So dropping a hell fighter at $50k on an enemy towelhead that has the potential to injure or kill one of our SF guys is a drastic savings.

I say drop one on all of them.

Plus just the simple fact of dropping it on one saving a American life is well worth the price of that missile.

I see a lot of 30mm used in these vids and wonder if there would be benefit to replacing some of the 4 wing pods with additional ammo storage (extended magazine). Since they aren't going against armor, a payload heavy with 30mm and still maintaining some guided HEAT would give longer time on target to support the crunchies.

    This armchair is comfortable too.

Yeah, it's easy to sit here and say a hellfire is an expensive way to take out one insurgent, but on the other hand what I costs to train one of our warfighters and the home moral I support the hellfires. I'm sure the boys on the ground appreciates the show as well.
Got it out of the catalogue when I was with D.C. SWAT. We called it "Gucciflage"

Well according to the libs, Americans can EASILY purchase machine guns and bazookas and grenades. And once my gubment check comes in, Im getting an apache and 2 hellfire missiles, can you find those on gunbroker? the cost of a hellfire v the cost of the ride home in a pine box, the hellfire is much cheaper. jus sayin!

Kinda reminds me of shooting rats and mice in my first appartment with a 22 pistol... little pieces flying all over the dam place!
I grew up next to Ft. Hunter Liggette, Ca. and as a kid I got to watch a lot of Apachie and Abrams training. I am still not sure what is more fun to watch, 5 M1A1 Abrams playing hunter/killer with R/C targets or an Apachie doing straffing runs with the chain gun, but they are both cooler than hell!

I wasn't complaining about the cost. That's a helluva lot cheaper than what we pay to fly Obama & family to his campaign stops, and at least we get some bang for our buck.

That night vision is sweet, I wish the Marines had that when I was flying the A-6E on night low levels in the goo. That will get your attention. They got the FLIR pods after I got out.
