Default Charles Daly Defense AR 15 Eval and Value

A friend asked me to evaluate an AR 15 that he got in on trade and since I never owned or handled this brand, I thought I would ask what the street value is of the upper/lower w/ clips (only).

    Down Below are the specs:

Charles Daly Defense flattop upper with 20” Fluted barrel, 1:8 twist in .223/5.56 (200 rounds down the tube) and has a freefloat handgaurd.

Charles Daly Defense Lower w/ Ergo palm rest grip

Three (3) 30 round Center Industries Corp Clips

it has minor scratches, but is in great shape.

Also I’m going to take it to the range for a function and accuracy testing and wondered what kind of accuracy I should expect at 100 yds with factory Hornady 55gr V-MAX ?

Thanks in advance for the help

They went out of business about 2 years ago, CDNN purchased a bunch of the stuff and sold it pretty cheap.
Heard they may start the business up again but nothing since.

I purchased a semi auto 12ga tactical shotgun for $369, it runs better than my Remington 1100 and 11-87s do LOL.

    Harris,

I was affraid of that since you can't find much info. It seems that JVP manafactured the receivers for them.Well, great thing about the AR15 plateform being mil spec, the manafacture and parts are unlimited.

I heard great things about their shotguns, but never owned one.

Some range time will tell all.

    Thanks for the reply.

I remember Charles Daly making some 1911 pistols a while back, dont remember much flak about them so they must have been ok. Shoot it and see how it does, can always trade it on the EE somewhere.

CD spent time on different forums asking customers what they wanted in their ARs. They seemed to use good components, and had fans on M4Carbine.net, ARFCOM. I believe they visited this forum also about a 6.8 but it never made it to market. They were also going to introduce the Israeli Tavor bullpup rifle to the US. Many of the components are already assembled here in the US and it would have been a hot seller. At SHOT last year, Kasner, the former CEO of CD said he was still trying to bring the Tavor to market, and maybe some of the other CD products that were selling well before they shut down the first time.

I bought a Charles Daly Stainless 1911. Sent it back 4 times because it always jammed on the last round(any magazine). They finally sent a new gun after 6 months of trading back and forth. Already disgusted by then. May have been a fluke-who knows?

That sucks! The few that I got to put fingerprints on looked very well put togeather, not quite Kimber level, but still very nice.
