    Default rifle question

Hello everyone im new to the forum and new to the 6.8spc. I just ordered my first 6.8spc rifle and was wondering if anyone had any experience with the manufactuer. Its a armalite m15 a4, 16 inch barrel. Im pumped about getting it, it will be in on wednesday. It looked like a good gun and armalite seems like they have a goo reputation. Any info would be great, ill be using my gun mainly for deer and hogs.

    Welcome aboard!
Yep, they have a great reputation. SPC II 1:11 twist (Even has 5/8-24 thread on the muzzle. 16" is the sweet spot for the 6.8. Your GTG w/ any factory load & hot reloads(up to a point)!! The 6.8 is a great Groundhog,Yote, hog & deer round!
Not too many Armalites here. There is nothing wrong with the Armalite. It is just that allot here build their own or just go with an upper.
    We'd like a range report.

Bought the same gun a little over a year ago. I changed the Trigger to a Mega Arms single stage trigger, added a RRA aluminum free floated arm guard, an Ergo grip, a Simms recoil pad, a set of DPMS anti-walk trigger pins, Model 1 tactical charging handle, Magpul enhanced trigger guard and an AR Performance MCD muzzle Brake. I don't think I needed the recoil pad, but my wife also shoots the gun. It is topped with a set of Burris High Tactical rings and a Nikon Prostaff 4-12 X 40 scope. I get 1 moa or less at 100 yards with Hornady 120sst and Nosler 110gr Accubond factory ammo. I can get about 1/2 to 3/4 moa with handloads. I killed a 200 pound buck with a 19 1/2" inside spread with it last year. It is a sweet shooter for sure. I am sure you will be pleased with the gun. Welcome to the addiction where the build never ends!!! Hope you enjoy the gun. Will be looking forward to hearing your range report. There are a couple of other guys on here with Armalite rifles. They will probably chime in if they read this. BTW, the Hornady 120SST's will put the smack down on some hogs!!! Oh yah, welcome to the best gun forum on the net!!!

Thanks for the info akerlin. Its good to know what the rifle is capable, hopefully mine will be just as accurate. I plan on shooting handloads in mine as soon as i get my dies in. Until then i will have to make do with factory ammo. It probably wouldnt hurt to change out the factory handguard for a freefloat tube as well as changing a few other things. Thanks again for the info.

Armalite is a great choice. Their barrel specs are great, 1:11 4-groove, SPC II and lapped, with chrome lining. I think Armalites are probably the best production 6.8s out there, at their price point or higher.

I love my 1/10 4 groove SPCII 16'' Armalite. Very accurate with anything I've shot in it. The 120 gr SST's seem to work very well. Use it primarily for hunting and long range target shooting.
