    Default Fire Forming 7.62x40WT brass

I just got my rifle put together and getting ready for my next step, reloading. However, there is a small issue. My dies will not be available until the end of the month. I have decapped and swaged 500 pieces of Lake City brass. I have about 130 pieces of this brass cut just above the top of the shoulder. IIR the brass is 40.30 mm or somewhere around there. So my question is, can I just trim the brass to 40 mm and use the cream of wheat method to fire form my brass. Would i need to open the case mouth to at least .308 before fire forming?

Rajuy,Yes, you would need the brass neck opened up.....you can either get the dies you need, or get some brass from us until you get your dies.

Thanks, guess i was in a rush to shoot my new rifle. Which i did, to sight in my red dot. pretty much took 4 rounds to sight it in but I ended up shooting one entire box of the nosler 125 bt's. Rifle is very smooth shooting. Kept one box to hunt with. I found out yesterday while on your site, the dies are back in stock. They should be here Friday. I will just prep the brass i have (about 3000 pieces) and wait for the dies to get here.
