Lookin good. You are right it's missing some contrast though.
Just reassembled my beater rifle after stripping it down an putting on two coats of Coyote Brown Dura Coat. I think I might need to add some darker brown camo, but I wanted some opinions. First shot at dura coat and I am pretty happy, ended up with a couple drip spots. Next time you go to the range make some money. Just catch or retrieve your 6.8 brass and sell it.

I can dig it especially if you add that dark brown for camo (my vote is a tiger stripe variant).

Looks good. You give me hope, I intend on duracoating my rifle also. Did you do any special prep for coating?
A 9mm may expand but a .45 ain't gonna shrink.

Looks good, I like the tiger strip ideas also. The first AR I rattle can-ed turned out good. After a first coat of tan, I just pulled up a few fist full of yard grass and leaves and layed it on the top then sprayed a few different colors. The owner was impressed. Be creative, it can always be taken off...

The key with dura coat is to keep the coats VERY light, lighter than you think is too light. It is an epoxy and sets up pretty thick as the coats add up. Here's my first ever dura coat project. It turned out surprisingly well but I definitely had to scrape some off of certain areas to make sure everything moved and worked as it should.
