Colt 1911 Series 80 3 part question

1. The all black sights don't suit me well. Looking for a low cost white outline or fiber optic sight. anything I should stay away from?

2. I mainly shoot my 22 ace slide on this, so I don't have much 45 ammo around. In fact this last weekend is the first time I shot the 45 slide since about 1994. I have target 40 cal ammo for my glock. Can I get a .40 colt barrel and replace the 45 barrel and get the spring to go with the .40? the real concern is will the ejector work? Just trying to limit the ammo purchases to a lesser number. so the answer to #2 could cancel #1

3. The recoil spring guide is a 2 piece unit that screws together and extends all the way to the barrel bushing. No big deal until I go to clean it. I barely get clearance with the recoil spring plug and barrel bushing to dissasemble to clean. Does anyone else have a recoil spring guide that extends all the way to the barrel bushing and do you have a fit during dissasembly for cleaning?
