There is only about 100fps difference, hitting steel out to 600 with a 16" is no problem.
Well, I was all set on ordering a 20" for a bench/varmint rifle. But now I am torn between the 16" SOCOM and the 20" SPR. I was just curious if anyone had an accuracy/chrono comparison of the two and what everyone's thoughts were. Majority of my shots will be under 300, but I'd like the ability to hit steel a little farther.

Don't get caught outgunned, step up to the 6.8mm

I'm using a 20" SPR, mostly for 600 yard matches right now. For long range, it's good to remember that the 6.8 drops a lot. For my purposes, 100fps is significant -- I'll take what I can get! I may feel slightly differently come deer season due to weight, but that's a relatively minor concern to me. It's still lighter than my 270 if I swap out the scope for a dot...

Well, I went ahead and ordered the 20 from you. I figure I already have an M4 profile carbine upper (not the best quality mfg though) so I would try something different. It's going to be a bench rifle primarily anyway, so the extra weight shouldn't bother me too much.
