The stickeys in the reloading section should answer most of your questions. Plus there is lots of other info throughout that section. As for lowers it all comes down to personal taste. O ya welcome to the forum.
Waiting for RRA upper to get here next week. Going to purchase a stripped lower also. Using it mainly for hog hunting. Any reloading advise and building a lower would be much appreciated.

Next time you go to the range make some money. Just catch or retrieve your 6.8 brass and sell it.

I bought a 6.8 spc before I even knew much about it, I have since then thanked myself for the decision that I made, I plan to use it for Big Missouri bucks, Coyote that are always trying to attack my dogs, and even a few hogs at my buddies ranch in Texas, I have acheived accuracy that I did not believe was possible for me using a gun.... but I am now as confident with a 300 plus yard shot with my six eight I would be a with a 300 Win mag but I am much more stable with the sixeight platform... plus the people on this site are amazing and never afraid to help with a problem, this is honestley the first type of forum that I have ever felt comfortable posting on without sombody ridiculing me for not knowing everything about the subject. Regards,
Shane

There are a lot of really good step by step guides on the Internet for putting together a lower assembly. I actually just put my first together a couple weeks ago and have done two more since then. Just make sure you have a nylon or brass hammer and proper punches to avoid damaging the receiver finish or damaging the roll pins. Good luck!
