    Default Thanks, SCOTUS!

Now I can add the Medal of Honor, Navy Cross and lots of other medals to my resume', thanks to the Supreme Court throwing out the 2006 Stolen Valor Act. Anybody know where I can pick up some of these medals for my shadow box?

What the hell is America turning into!?

My heart goes out to those heroes, both alive and dead, who earned their medals honestly.

    http://www.sgvtribune.com/news/ci_20...-medals-pomona

this is the reason for it.
this guy is the lowest form of earth scum.

    Medal of honor, really?

    BUT....

there was another recent story out about another act.

    http://now.msn.com/now/0622-army-vet-banned-old-navy

now this was a little over zealous in my book.
i know the medals and ribbons are earned and i appreciate that.
but this kid was wearing a jacket bought from army surplus to keep warm.
this kid wasnt flaunting it around or trying to get something he didnt earn, like a check from VA or something.
if the story i read was true and the jacket was bought from military surplus I blame the store for not removing them. they have to know the rules about that, i didnt know it was illegal.
i know only the person who won a MOH can wear or own it, its even illegal to sell.

the first guy was a total scum!!!
i cant believe someone didnt google search MOH winners to confirm it!
i hope they retry him for the fraud and not stolen valor, this guy has a special place in HELL reserved for him!!!
but i hope the situation is assessed before a trigger is pulled on incidents like this.

and to answer your question, i wish i knew what america was coming to.
this week has been an absolute torch burning of the constution.
    its sad really.

Padding a resume is fairly common in these days of high unemployment, but even I am astute enough to recognize the difference between brillance and bull****. These people who try to embellish their military records are a special breed. Yes, given the choice between hiring two people with equal education and on-the-job experience, I would always hire a veteran, but not because of the medals he or she earned. Besides, that is not something you would list on a resume unless you had done nothing else in your life that you would consider an accomplishment. Any veteran who survived combat has accomplished a helluva lot more than I ever did, medals or no medals.

    Just FYI

Lawmakers Push Revised Stolen Valor Act: Sen. Scott Brown (R-Mass.) and Rep. Joe Heck (R-Nev.) are pushing to get the Stolen Valor Act of 2011 passed through their respective chambers of Congress following last week's Supreme Court ruling in the case of the United States versus Alvarez. By a majority of six to three, the Supreme Court ruled that the original Stolen Valor Act, enacted in 2006—which made it a crime to falsely claim receipt of military decorations or medals—was unconstitutional because it violated a citizen's right to free speech. Brown and Heck said their revised bills, S. 1782 and H.R. 1775, respectively, would focus on penalizing those who seek to benefit from making false claims, and did not attempt to limit an individual's free speech. "I feel strongly about protecting the honor of our service men and women, and the Stolen Valor Act of 2011 will help do that," said Heck in a June 28 release. "We need to ensure that no one can benefit from making false claims and steal the true valor of the deserving few," stated Brown in a June 29 release. Why is it that every time I now see the acronym SCOTUS... I instinctively think of a similarly spelled appendage of the male anatomy?

    Is there a subliminal connection?
Law enforcement officers must understand that armed citizens are there to defend them when they are outnumbered…and to outnumber them, if they enforce unconstitutional law.

    300 AAC Blackout Chambering Cancelled:

Some time ago, Savage announced it would be chambering the Model 10 Precision Carbine in 300 AAC Blackout. Since that time, we have tested many variants of this cartridge in various barrel lengths and rates of twist. This exhaustive testing left us quite unsatisfied with the accuracy we were able to get from the subsonic loads in this chambering. Accuracy with the lighter, faster loads in this caliber was actually quite good. But we believe the real value in this cartridge lies in the use of subsonic loads for suppressed rifles. Therefore we have decided to scrap the project.
It is our understanding that pushing these heavy, slow bullets presents challenges not found in typical loadings and that our experience is not unique. Subsequently, many in the industry have simply adopted a lower standard for accuracy for these subsonic loads. While this does seem reasonable and we don't criticize any in our industry that have taken this approach, it just won't work for Savage.
Our brand was built on accuracy and we are too protective of our reputation for building the most accurate factory rifles available. We would rather walk away from this opportunity than sell a product that requires an explanation.

You too, huh? First time I saw that acronym I did a double take. We use a lot of acronyms these days primarily because people can't spell.
