I always thought that the flange on an M16 firing pin was larger, but that may not be the case. Don't mean to hi jack the thread.

They are the same. There are different carriers and no Full Auto carriers aren't NFA items.

Interesting. Thanks for the info...guess the difference in flange sizes are due to different brands maybe. Who knows. There is so much info and so many parts available it is hard to pick what is right and what isn't.

When I did my research for this 6.8 AR project, I picked up that the full-auto carriers were designed to take more abuse and the extra weight slows the action down a bit (cycles smoother). They may be made of different steel and have more inspections prior to the sale. Thought it would be a good idea to try with the more powerful 6.8 vs 5.56.

They definitely weigh more as there is more mass. That alone was reason enough to use on my 6.8. I use a heavier buffer and spring as well. Of course I didn't until after I shot it and decided to try some tuning tricks which were enough for my hot load I use on the 95TTSX.

Bravo Company now has full-auto LMT BCG for 5.56 in-stock. I got one of those and PRI 6.8 Bolt from Hamlund. Now I can move this project forward!

Thumbs up to Bravo Company and Hamlund Tactical! They delivered the products in 3 days from placing the order. Amazing what happens when you work with a quality supplier!!!

Any M16 Firing Pin i have ever received has a larger flange than a AR15 Pin and will not fit in a semi carrier.

How much more does an M16 carrier weigh than a AR15 carrier?
