What round are you loading? Pistol cases like 9mm/10mm//45ACP etc. headspace on the case mouth so a tapper crimp, not roll crimp, is the correct die. A roll crimp is correct for .357, .44 mag and the like. As someone else noted, I bullet seat and tapper crimp with separate dies.

I am doing 40s&w and 45acp. Your right,I figured a taper crimp is what I am looking for. I had some factory rounds that I was looking at and they have a pretty deep crimp on them. I would call it a roll crimp. I am still learning the differences and how tight the should be. It looks like I can achieve a good taper crimp with my hornady dies. Just not a roll crimp it seems
