If the new cammo is designed by the same SOB that came up with the Air Force's newest uniform, shoot 'em now. The most hot, non breathable, doesn't blend in with anything except grandma's couch, pocket flaps right where your knee hits the ground pieces of junk ever made.
Oh and 5 billion on new cammo, the AF has spent that much on 3 versions of a POS joggin suit, couldn't get the first color choice on boots (wanted green, couldn't get enuff went with brown for 3-4 yrs now throw away the brown boots and get new green boots. But wait, if you go to Smellysockistan, you get new mottle brown cammies and guess what...Brown Boots).
It's time for this old dinasaur to march off to the tar pits!
Okay, I'll shut up. Some fellas have to keep their tongues flappin' but not me. I was brought up right. My pa used to tell me to shut up and I'd shut up. I wouldn't say nothin'. One time darn near starved to death. WOULDN'T TELL HIM I WAS HUNGRY!!

I deal with about 5%-10% of the population 80%-90% of the time...
Just go ASAT....

I followed the development of the MarPat for the few years that it took for both the uniforms and pattern. They seemed to take their time and search for feedback from testers and Marines in general. They even had a survey for certain criteria that Marines could vote on (pocket positioning, fasteners, identification, etc). There were several versions of the MarPat that evolved into its current form. In the end, I thought the final product worked well. I even praised the decision to have a single cuff button on the inside of the sleeve rather than the dual buttons on the outside. No more getting snagged while setting up the camo nets for the tanks!
While I wasn't as closely tied to the Army's version and its development, it seemed rushed and the pattern never seemed to function as well as advertised. Just wearing a camo pattern shouldn't be construed with full concealment, but the IDF's OD seems to do a better job (minus the white shirt of course).

Just open up a cabellas catalog and go through there... they waste more money coming up with stuff that is already designed.

All the services are guilty of this. Before I retired, NAVSPECWARCOM had fielded a number of different uniforms, trying all kinds of combinations out. Then there was a food fight over desert pattern digi's with those who weren't operators/support. It ended up that non-operators who are Navy wear the 3 color deserts because of this. Utterly stupid IMHO and there was little to no input from those who (non-operators) would have to wear the new pattern uniforms who would have to wear the woodland pattern. Their leadership failed them completely and the SEAL community had to compromise on that set. Oh, and the woodland pattern? It's MARPAT but at a 90 degree angle with a few changes so as not to violate patent and doesn't work as advertised. So, the Navy has 4 patterns in 4 different uniforms. Lunacy. The blueberries? That was a feel good/feel like a warrior movement. Coveralls, from all my shipboard and submarine buddies, were far more practical.
It's disgusting to think that in the field, there are 4 sets of uniforms in a single AOR for the US military - think about that from the perspective of identifying who you're looking at when determining whether to engage or not. The Secretary of Defense should have put the kibosh on this and one uniform that the US armed forces wears in a given theater. This has been a huge waste of resources and has brought out the worst in service parochialism.

I like my women just a little on the trashy side - but my rifles are squeaky clean!
Disregard, I guess it works.

A buddy of mine gave me a set of the ACU's that he wore in the sandbox when his unit replaced them.
I haven't used them hunting the first time because they don't blend in. I have opted to use commercially available camo because if I wanted to stand out while hunting, I would just wear my blue jeans and t shirt and ball cap.
Which I admit I do for small fur bearers, but not turkey or deer or bear.
