    Default Carolina Tactical Group, NC

I went to a intro LR rifle class yesterday held with the guys from CTG and had a blast. Kyle and his two helpers Wyatt and Pete were awesome to work with. We started off at 100yds and went out to 600yds shooting steel, a few took some shots and connected at 1K, I tried but didn't, LOL. I wanted to run my 6.8 but didn't haven't had any time to get enough loaded so I ran the Savage 10PC in .308 with FGMM. I don't think the class will be good on my wallet though, that type of shooting really had me wanting to get into it more. My Burris XTR with the mil dot was working good but trying to convert mils to moa on the fly was making my head spin. I think that was the only push I needed to step into a Nightforce. I know now that math plays a much bigger big part in the sport than I thought.

I'm going to the sniper golf shoot next Sat and it should be a blast also, I just hope it isn't as smokin' hot. If anyone in NC is looking to get some good training, check Kyle and his boys out.

Ringing steel at long ranges is addicting!

Yes it is. I'm clearing off a small area for another berm now to stick some 8" or so plates in for shooting. I only have 200yds at home though.

I'd kill for 200 yards! I'd have to shoot through about a dozen homes to get 200 yards, and the HOA already doesn't like me.

After I go through the carbine course in Sept, I'm going to sign up for a longer range rifle course.

Yeah, I'm lucky to have the range. The best part is no d-bags to put up with like public ranges. I'm part of a somewhat private range that has a 300yd berm but I've only been 2 times, that was $200 I could have put into my range, LOL.

I'd say go for the LR course, it was fun. That was my first time ringing steel and shooting paper just seems boring now. Kyle was very laid back and helpful. I will be doing some more classes with CTG.

I attended the Sniper Golf shoot held by CTG this past Saturday. Other than being smokin' hot, I had a blast. Showed me I needed some more time behind the rifle and made me order some AR500 steel for the home range.
