Default Need guidance on EoTech for NV

Need to finish up an upper and am left with one choice. I need to make this an economic decision (low $) so here goes. Which model of the Eotech will host the PVS-14 I bought from you along with a 3X magnifier AND is the least expensive model? I will go with an EXP2 on a later build when my pockets are fuller. Would like to be able to use AA batteries but that isn't a deal killer. Which EOTech model am I looking for?

The least expensive option would be to buy a 552 A65, on one of the board's equipment exchanges. I have 4 of them, and I bought all of them off EE's, for < $350

ETA: sorry, Ident, I didn't even look to see that this was in your IP thread.

In order to save a few bucks, you do not need the NV compatibile models. I have one that is and one that isnt. The one that isnt will still turn down far enough that it is barely even visible though a PVS-14. My understanding is that part of "NV Compatible" means that no light comes out the front for BG's with NV to see you. Unless you are on a 2way range, the std models work fine.

Edit: the one I have that isnt "NV compatible" that works perfect is a EOTech 516.A65/1. It uses AA batteries.

    Swede,
HTR is correct with the 552 model and price that you can find them used for. As for using a non-NV Eotech, it's hit or miss. We have seen these work and also be to bright. I would suggest going with a NV compatible model so there are no worries.

http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_7_163/1...feb_2005_.html Here's one on ARFCOM for $375. I'm sure you could find others on there if you can stomach going over there.

I've heard this too. Must vary by model or date or something. The one I have will actually go TOO low even for NV...you can barely see it through the PVS. Safest bet would be to get a NV one unless you can test it b4 buying.
