I have cleaned up this thread.

I WILL have a constructive thread on this caliber if it KILLS me. Actually it wont kill me. I will just start banning people and that will be it.

Post pertinent info in this thread or dont post at all. that is the only warning I am going to give.

This is not based off of what the OP said in the opening post. we do not let members set what can and cannot be posted in a thread.

BUT I am saying right now since TOPICS about this caliber draws controversy from some because of the actions of others that we will keep the IDEA of the OP and only post something that is substantial.

Always remember that posts relevancy are at the discretion of the moderators. If you dont like it then dont post.

    300 blackout gel test.

not a 300 yard test. It was inconclusive, but it can be done outside of manufacturers

How about a few Pictures, don't want anyone to get LOST(I liked the TV show too).

As a BIG fan of the AR 15 platform, I'm happy we have diversity. If we were still shooting the 300 Whisper(I had a love hate relationship), we never would of got the longer Bullets made for the 300 AAC Blackout. The 110gr Blacktip, crimp into the groove, and if a soul makes a mistake and tries to chamber in a 5.56, NO BULLET SETBACK, AND NO kaboom. The 300 BLK can shoot Military surplus and pulls, one year ago the M118 175gr Pulls were cheap(less than 10 cents each), due to the Blackout, they are not as cheap anymore, I was loading M118s for less than I could reload 5.56 ammo. The Blacktip 110gr and the 125 OTM, they feed well from any mags I've tried, no need for any modifications.

I think the 110 gr. Blacktip is THE top bullet for supersonic in the 300 BLK.

    Case comparison.

3 KICK a## rounds available for the AR15 Platform. I'm working with loads for the 264/LBC/ARP, 130 gr Swift Scirocco II(BC.571, oh BABY), I have a new ARP 20 inch 6.8 SPC that is on the hot seat, 110 Accubonds are up first to feel a spanking from AA2200(2800-2850 fps please). I'm done loading for the 110gr Blacktip, my handloads are at 2400(20.2gr Lilgun, Wolf SR Mag, crimp in Grove). fps in 80 deg weather(4500 ft ASL), they are 10-20 fps faster then Factory 110 Blacktip loads.

The Blackout has the smallest case, but look how the 110 gr Blacktip maximizes powder capacity. I'm tempted to lathe 0.100 off the Scirocco's base, I really need .5 to 1.0 extra capacity in my 6.5 G load with CFE223, I'm pretty compressed and I'm just shy of 2500fps in the 18 inch barrel. Maybe fired cases I can pack another 1/2 in there. The 110 AB extends into the case too, but density of AA2200 is good in the SPC. The 110 AB load is slightly flatter than the 130 Scirocco, the Scirocco slightly more Ft/lbs, both should have expansion at 450 yards, so 400 yards for hunting, easy.

Whispering.... stay on topic... stay on topic.

Image from SWFA's web site, my SWFA Super Sniper fixed 12x came in, it's going on the gARP, I need another 20x scope, but this one will work in the mean time(got to plan for those expensive scopes).

Who is going to post up the images of the gel tests of the 300 BLK? The tests look GREAT. Barnes makes good STUFF.

The 300 BO 110 Barnes was specifically designed for the BO I believe. There is another 110 Barnes black tip, I don't know if it was designed for the 7.62X40 WT also or not. The .300 BO does have a nice niche to fill for several areas, but I think people are tired of when others blow its performance way put of proportion. Yes there is one great bullet that can get it out to 300 yards, but there is also a nice 150 grain Corbond (Sp?) that can get a 7.62X39 out that for ethical deer killing as well. But as stated earlier for those who are uber AR fans, its good to get another cartridge that gets the platform out in public as an acceptable hunting arm that actually shoots ethical cartridges for medium game.

The other 30 cal 110gr TTSX has a blue tip(IIRC) and is a more regular shaped bullet, I do believe we have both Wilson and Barnes to thank for that bullet. It's a perfect fit for the x39WT. That same 110gr TTSX, if it was sized .311, it would kick A## in a 7.62x39.
