We hit a pasture we had taken two large hogs out of a week ago and the Intel (the farmer) said they had some rain last week, seems after a rain they come back out to the fields to root in the soft ground. We sneak in under cover of the large shadows under an almost full moon and spotted 10 hogs with the PS32 and Raytheon made the stalk to about 75 yards cross wind of them and found they had about 20 piglets with them, we did the 3-2-1-bang on the two largest one’s 223 with 60 gr V-max and 243 with 58gr V-max, then the world came alive after a short fire fight with the hogs we had 5 down largest was 250+ we clean up and find a few blood trails with the thermals heading to the woods

Next pasture we had to surgically remove 2 out of a herd of cattle, to many cows to risk any running shots. Running total is now 7 on the ground with several hits but no recovery

Talked my brother into checking the first pasture again about 2 hours later, he figured it would not have anything so he stayed in the truck and told me to recon it and flash my red led at him if I saw anything, I saw two large hogs with the ps32 at about 200 yards, gave him the signal and got nothing in return so I started to put the sneak on them keeping a thin tree line between me and them, I get about 100 yards away and they get a little cagey and start to move so I still figure its only two boars I pic the largest one out with the D760 on the 243 and put one right behind the shoulder,,,, that’s when the whole pasture explodes with hogs a force of 30+ hogs,,, **** It’s an ambush, I’m whacking hogs left and right trying to hold my ground when my brother who it turns out is 50-100 yards behind me yells don’t move, I yell back I’m out of ammo and I won’t move, he starts in on them as they run past me, for a moment I think about crouching down but think again when I remember he has the Raytheon W1000 and if I crouch I’ll look like a hog (not good) he takes 2-3 more one nice shot at 250 on the run about 30 yards to my left, got it all on Video and in it you can see the local population run about in terror (rabbits) I hate to post it as some may think it was dangerous for him to shoot past me and I probably shouldn’t even relate this part of the story to the public, but it helps me heal from the terrible ordeal I will carry the rest of my life LOL. We recognize it for what it truly was,,, I was about to be overrun and my brother, not just in arms, did what he had to do to protect me from the savage hordes of hogs that where fully intent on disemboweling me. (that and he was not about to be left out of the action only to listen to me all the way home about what a puss we was how he would have gone to water had he been in my position out of ammo facing a 100 enemy hogs ok so it was maybe only 30 but he wouldn’t know that ) the dark spots in front of me are hogs on the charge

After the sound s of squealing hogs and gun fire died down I went back to the truck for more ammo and we started the clean-up operation we find my first shot hog and it turns out to be a high ranking boar 200+ among the wounded and after a short interrogation we find that they were a special operations rescue unit (kind of like PJ’s but hogs) sent in to retrieve or eat the dead from the action earlier that night. We further find 4 blood trails leading into the thick woods with the help of the PS32 and Raytheon thermals, but feel that their dead bodies are no danger to the farmers tractor tires so we look no further (his requirement remove all dead from the fields so the bones don’t pop my tractor tires) total dead retrieved in this action 7. Bringing the total for the night to 14 confirmed and a possible 7-8 wounded. Hog war is hell

Frank T, you asked for the story, it’s all true just ask me cause I was there. LOL
