It wouldn't surprise me that the word getting out online had something to do with this being corrected.

A few months back I went out to shoot an AR15 and had taken two 30 round metal mags. I inserted the first, pulled trigger and got a click. Took out a second metal mag, process and results duplicated. Two metal mags and neither would feed. Pulled out the Pmags and problem solved. The only time in the future that I will use metal mags in an AR will be if there are no pmags, like my 6.8. Fortunately, I have not had a failure to feed with any of the 6.8 mags.

Default PMAGS are not actually banned

While TACOM said PMAGS are "banned" they have left it up to local commanders to ensure that Soldiers can use PMAGS that are the real thing and not some cheap knock off.

PMAGS are not banned, that's good for the soldier and Magpul. Just out of curiosity, is the Brownells mag with its redesigned follower proving to be reliable?

If this is such an issue for the army, I'd like to know why they just don't test the PMAGS against the standard issue mags. Seems stupid not to thoroughly test equipment to find the best we can supply our troops with.
