I should be building my upper this week. Here is a picture of what should be the finished product. I just put the parts together without tightening anything. It should weigh about 7.5 lbs and be a decent (pretty darn good) hog and deer rifle.

It is. I had them cut them to 11" for me. standard lengths are 9" and 12.75". I wanted to just cover the gas block. There are some issues with the sling swivel stud that needed to be worked out. Sadlak GB100 and mill .050" off of the nut holding the swivel stud fixed everything. I think the 11" tube is better balanced (aesthetically) with the 18" barrel than the standard 9" mid-length tube.

I am building several of them for friends. Some of the guys wanted collapsable stocks because they have kids who will use them for deer hunting.

I like simple. These guns are fairly no frills, but they are built out of good parts. All of them have Geisselle SSA Enhanced triggers. Frankly, the PSA barrels are the only unknowns. I hope they shoot good.

They also came out with a 16" "extra long rifle". I just noticed it a week or so ago. I think that is the route I am going to go. I have a 16" Troy alpha on my 5.56 and just lone the look. I am in love with the lancer but I just cannot stomach the price of the lancer.

    Thanks!

My PSA 18-inch barrel arrived today. It is the non-HF model. As reported before, it's weight is 1 lb 12 oz. It has a 11.25 twist, 6-groove bore. It has no dimples under the gas port. I am happy that it met my expectation. I'll be very pleased if it shoots well - looks like several of us will be finding out. Its the first part to arrive so I expect it will be another month before I get it together and get to the range.

The PSA barrel shoots great. The last 3 shot group I fired at 100 yards measured .246".

DZ, what load were you using? Do you have a compensator, if so which one? I finally got my bolt carrier group this week so I hope to shot it this weekend.

95 gr TTSX over 29.5 gr RL10X in an SSA case sparked by a CCI 450. It only gets 2675 fps, but it shoot lights out.

I have an A2 flash hider on it.
