I have a remington r25 .308 made by dpms, ihave been very un happy with its 2"+ groups at 100yrds, i read about the arp light weight barrels and thought it might be a good idea to replace the barrel with a quality arp barrel and also lighten it up at the same time. I beleive it came with the dpms light weight receiver, so i think i could get away with replacing the barrel and bolt to ensure headspacing correctly , handgaurd with a carbon fiber, low pro gas block and mid legth gas tube. Is there anything im missing?
My LR308 had the same issue with that tent stake barrel from DPMS. replaced the barrel in it shoots great.

Would i have to do anything with buffer/spring going from a rifle to mid gas system
I got my new barrel from H last week, put it all together last night and was very happy with the weight. It is 7 ibs. 10 oz. bare rifle, a savings of 1.25lbs. switching to a colapsible dpms stock and a 12" troy trx rail realy makes this thing feel a whole new rifle, cant wait to see how it shoots, maybe tonight. Thanks H for getting the barrel to me before your big move.
