I wouldn't believe this story if I read it but it's the truth. I just shot a 130# boar or so. He was along the woodline at about 75 yards. I shot him, hit right in behind the shoulder. He comes running out at me and I hit him again. This shot is perfect. But he only slows down and runs I'll say 20 more yards and lies down and dies. Doesn't drop..
Guess what the second shot does?
Takes out his spine behind the ear, about center neck. When I felt it, I could tell the spine was clearly broken. But he did not drop? This hog was taken with 110 BTHP.. No exit on first shot and an exit on the second.
Now here's the story;
I was checking the last pasture. I saw a possum and was going to take him out. Well he ran off. I just do happened to light up the woodline and there stood this guy.. Stalk to 75 yards, scared he was going to go in the woods and so I shot. Well my gun mounted IR was dead so I couldn't see him. I had to juggle the rifle in one hand and the IR light in the other. When I shot he was gone. I have no idea how I was able to get on him again but i did. I was lucky he came out to the pasture towards me instead of in the woods.. Anyways heres the pictures!
