    Default Gas block problem

Ok, I finally got some sights on my upper . I took it to the range and shot it ,after the second shot the shell would not eject, and I could not pull the bolt carrier out. "I had to tap it with a hammer" . I looked over the gun and noticed my gas block had slide up the barrel about 1/8" . I put it back in place and tightened it down . "gas block is a yankee hill clamp on type." It cycled the first two round fine then did the same thing. How can I keep the gas block from sliding ? I torqued the pooh out of it and it still slides when shot...

Is it the clam shell type clamp or the two piece clamp? The diameters might be different, check them with a dial caliper.

It sounds like your not getting enough clamping force. There must be too much play between the block and barrel. I have heard of yhm stuff going down hill qc wise. This might be another example.

when I tightened it down , it looked like the coating on the barrel was oozing through the threads of the allen heads on the gas block.. I might not be doing something right ....

There really isn't much to it. Just line up the holes and tighten. Try some blue loctite on the block screws. Or just get a different block i like these ones for barrels with coatings. http://yhm.net/index.php?main_page=p...products_id=43
