I am saying that this Leupold scope is normally rear focal plane but the Blackout reticle version is front focal plane.

I had always heard it reffered to as "first focal plane" and "second focal plane".....until I picked up a gun mag a couple weeks back that was also using the front/rear focal plane terminology. First time I had ever heard it reffered to like that...I was like wtf are these yahoos talking about

Now I am wondering why this switch in terminology is spreading...

It's called dumbing it down to reach a broader audience. Anyone guess what grade level the average newspaper is written to? Anyone know why? Does anyone think a magazine is any different? Oh and this ignore feature rocks!! Lmao.

Just one more reason we appreciate the mods, James. You are stuck with so much of the drivel generated by those that the rest of us can ignore.

If you had not heard these terms before, no problem. You can learn them now.

I use the same terms as the Leupold engineers that I worked with during the development of this product.

LMFAO, hard to believe someone would make a BDC scope for it.

I however think it is a needless complication and creates a busy sight picture. That is 16 aiming points for elevation alone. Doable with practice, but so is holdover or adjusting turrets.
