Blackout gets scope before 6.8

I was on Leopold website today and i came across this new scope. I can't believe the blackout gets a calibrated retical before the 6.8. The only thing we have is Trijicon ACOG 6.8 retical, but nothing in the variable power. So i sent leopold a email pretty much asking WTF. The BO was marketed to shoot super and sub from one gun. Leupold's dual reticle is calibrated to both since the drop is significantly different between the two. The 6.8 is primarily a supersonic cartridge only and doesn't need it. Well, until Bison's BSP's start hitting the scene. Those might be 6.8's that benefit from the dual reticle.

I however think it is a needless complication and creates a busy sight picture. That is 16 aiming points for elevation alone. Doable with practice, but so is holdover or adjusting turrets.

Good point 68wj. It would still be nice to have a calibrated retical for the 6.8, like the Nikon's 223 scopes. A guys can still wish though.

Thats a simple one, AAC is owned by Freedom Arms Co., lots more money involved in a partnership there than in just 6.8 caliber. Im not really suprised. Call Leopold, they will make a custom retical for any caliber/load you want, AAC is marketing the 300 Blk and has the backing of their parent company Freedom, so some arrangement with them has been made. Good for Leopold, sucky for us.

Create a business plan that maximizes profit.
Plan and coordinate production of the various parts: cartridge , barrels, uppers, suppressors, reloading components and tools, etc.
Gain SAAMI approved status.
Shotgun samples out to gun writers for puff pieces.
Comment in major gun nut forums.
Advertise widely.
Rake in the dough!

I agree, and you know what? If I was them I would do the same thing! I just wish they were pushing the 6.8 instead of that 7.62x39 wanna-be.

Well when ever I get my can in I plan to get a bison subsonic barrel and maybe cut it down to a SBR. But first things first get the can.

It would be bada** to have a 6.8 subsonic that is loud as a pellet gun, whoo I just had chills run down my spine. It would be even cooler if I had a 1-4 with a sub and supersonic retical to put on top of this build.

Well when you have a rifle with a trajectory like a rainbow a BDC reticle makes sense. I mean a 48" drop at 300 yards is alot to try and compensate for

I wonder who will make the first long range BDC for the 300 BO? Will it resemble the sights on a mortar? Will it just tell you how many degrees to tilt the barrel up to reach 600 meters?

But it's all worth it because the arched trajectory increases downward velocity and rotation on the bullet making it much more lethal. Still capable of downing a wildabeast a 800 meters with a 9" barrel.

Ummm, trijicon had 6.8 reticules out over a year ago. They didn't hit it big with the hunting market but they were out before 300 BO was even released.
