    Default Vortex SPARC vs StrikeFire

I have heard nothing but good thing about the SPARC. How does it compare to the StrikeFire? I do not need NV. I was thinking the StrikeFire would be nice since it is a 30 mm tube and the SPARC is smaller. What do you guys think?

I like the StrikeFire mainly due to its larger window.

I have a SPARC, but have never had a Strike fire.

My SPARC has been on a 5.56 rifle, but most rounds have been on a 16 inch 300 Blackout, and now it's on a 8.5 inch 300 BLK. I like its small size, it's easy to turn on, and if I forget to turn it off, it will do it for me. The smaller tube hasn't slowed me down, I think the smaller dots work well with 1 and 2 point slings, they are almost snag-less, not so with a larger dot. The smaller tube dots work best when optic is near the eye, if you run a magnifier, and dot is moved forward on the upper, Bigger is probably better.

They now can be had for $200 online. That's 1/2 the cost of an Aimpoint Pro(I think another great value), and 1/3 the cost of an Aimpoint T1.

I'm going to keep my SPARC, I'm going to buy a 2nd one for a 3gun rifle in an offset mount. I always seem to break optics while competitive shooting, so I'd rather break a SCARC than an Aimpoint. if I needed another dot for a training rifle, I will buy more. For SHTF and primary HD, I use Aimpoints. I shoot the HD rifles, but I have rifles set aside to abuse(thanks H),lol.

I have heard that the SPARC has the same bolt pattern as the Aimpoint T1 and I can use a La Rue mount. I have also heard it does not. What do you guys know about this?

My SPARC does NOT fit a LaRue LT660, I can get 3 of the cap screws started, maybe with them all loose I could get them started and tighten them down, but it's pretty shade tree.

I'll up load some pictures later

Image doesn't really show it, but the spacing on the SPARC between the short spaced cap screws is shorter than the the T1 mount.
