What is the current, proven load data for these bullets? I just bought some to try on Yotes this year using Relaoder 7 powder. 16" barrel. Pri mags. Shooting 0-200 yardsThanks
Yah I saw that. Didn't know if there was anything newer out. Thanks
No problem, I'm subscribed to it so I can keep an eye on it but nothing new lately.
Cool. Thanks. I wanna get the best load that's gonna DRT these big furred up Yotes we got here. I don't wanna push these so fast that they splash. Want good penatration with minimum pelt damage cause I keep them. The sierras worked very well but I heard good things about the Speers that I decided to try some this year. Tried the vmax. They suck big time!!!
What about the V-Max, "sucked big time"?
This post was from Aug 2010, I found it informative, although not exactly promising as far as the pelt damage goes. If you hadn't seen it, it may or may not help you. The 6.8 kills them no problem, but a lot of the posts I've read mention damage on the exit. Unfortunately I don't have any shots on coyotes with this round so no first hand reports.
The last 4 coyotes I shot with factory loaded SSA 90 tnts. They chronoed at 2,670 fps and I had no exits on any of them. Furthest coyote was 100 yards. All were DRT.
Thanks nswish. Hadnt seen that post. Average yote here us 40-50lbs. 5.56 was letting me down on these big furred up dogs that's why I went to to 6.8. Dime/quarter size holes are ok. I can sew them. Fist size is another story. Shots will be 0-200 around here
