For subsonic use it should beat the BO hands down, since subsonic use velocity is constant the heavier bullets with the larger frontal mass of the 338 will give you more energy down range.

I have a 338 Spectre but I havent been able to shoot it yet.

The only problem is there isn't any in-stock barrels.

It has been recommended to get one GOOD optic on something like a Larue QD mount and swap it between guns. Of course sometimes this won't work when there is a huge velocity/use difference between guns.
Tried that once, didn't work out real well. Each gets it's own. Why drop 2K in a build and get cheap on the optics?

OK - so PLEASE tell me more about the .338

Seems kinda large to work with standard AR mags/magwell, but since I know nada, I cam here to find out. After I sunk 1K in the 300 BLK game
Cartridge wise no larger than 6.8, just larger bullet. Same OAL as normal, .2.2ish. Uses 6.8 bolt and mags. Cases are form by 10mm brass through a FL die and can even be formed by trimming and resizing 6.8 brass just not that practical, IMO.

I like the idea of it over the BO because of the bullet weight. You can buy new 338 brass for like .21 each. I think SBR has the best price on it.
30HRT, what a 300BO wants to be when it grows up!

Holy hell, here I go again, yet another wildcat, off the wall.

I like it, I like it a lot.

Who, when, where, how much and how fast. I need more 411.

Yep. And if you are solely basing your decision on sub sonic performance mass and energy is something the 300 just can not match.
