Simple. Instead of rebuilding, just build another whole rifle. then you'll have multiple rifles to use when you get bored with one. :-)
My factory 5.56 SBR hasn't rarely had the original upper on it. It has been primarily a 6.8 gun but I swear I can't leave it be. I change barrel length, hand guards, grips, optics way too much. Right now I am on my 7th rebuild of some kind and chomping at the bit for Midway and Rainier to deliver my parts. My current build will be a quick handling rifle for homestead defense and shorter range deer/hog. My last was an 8" barrel and Aimpoint that was too short for comfortable shooting, with a 12" barrel before that, and 16" before that. I am hoping the 11.3" will keep me happy but I am kinda missin my 8" Noveske already and hating I sold it. The only thing that ever stays the same is SSA ammo.Anybody else never satisfied with their builds? I have started building more and more uppers. I now have a 556, 30 HRT and a 458 SOCOM. I am now also buying parts for a 6.8 12.5".
30HRT, what a 300BO wants to be when it grows up!
There are guys all over the world addicated to endless modding of our guns / trucks / motorcyles / sports cars / campers / quads .... whatever. Mostly we find ourselves on these forums. From one addict to another, may the zen of "it's good enough" fall upon you soon.
I have found my mod list is proprotional to time spent on the damn forums for any given man - hobby. I'm cutting myself off from my truck forum here soon... as soon as I get my suspension lift and new tires installed ahahahaha.
A Four Wheel Drive and a .45 ... and a 6.8 SPC.
Lmao!! I couldn't have said it better myself. I am a very obsessive consumer and, as such, I find myself doing way too much research on every single thing I buy. You know it's bad when you get like 27 emails a day from various forums and websites. Trucks, guns, knives, optics, clothes, gear, shoes, backpacking stuff, flashlights, etc, etc... It's bad. It's all very bad. Unfortunately, "it's good enough" doesn't work for me lol.

I refuse to admit to buying about 30 traditional bows in one year... as well as 10 various black powder guns another year. Nope, wasn't me, I didn't do it !!!![]()

I think that is the trouble....looking at other guns on the forums and seeing new products that have came out.
All parts are in and installed. Should be a fun short range deer rifle with 85 TSX or 95 TTSX. Now I am thinking I am going to save up for a 7.5 - 8.5 inch upper for a fun PDW that has decent up close ballistics.Wilson 11.3" 6.8 barrel, Midwest Industries generation 2 mid-length rail and topped with Leupold 1.5-4x scope.![]()
I do the same thing. My wife tells me that the ARs are grown men Legos. I use to change them around, then started building them out of spare parts, then building them out of the really good stuff. I currntly have six 6.8 uppers, three of which are SBRs and a pile of 5.56 uppers.
Yep I'm addicted. Terminal BlackRifle Disease.
