Is the DPMS sportical upper lighter than a traditional upper? It has less parts but appears bulkier to me. I recently ordered a bison upper and was thinking I would prefer to have the sportical upper on my hunting rifle and the traditional upper on my 5.56. I would only want to switch them if the sportical was lighter.

Hey Nick M, is your RRA a 5.56 or 6.8?
My RRA with 4 x 14 x 42 Leupold, a GemTech suppressor and 30 rnds comes in at 12.2#, I have the Operator model with their half quad handguard.
