"WHATEVER"
Range report. I'm excited with the results. I'm about 4500 ft here the wind was gusty from 0-15 and variable. I got most of my shots off in more or less calm conditions. I tried 110gr vmax, 110gr Hornady BTHP and SSA 115gr OTM. I lost 2 pieces of Hornady brass and that is about the worst I can say.
The first 4 shots at 50 yd with 110 vmax
Walking the scope in and the first 2 3 rd groups at 100 with 110 vmax.
Best group was around .5 top group around .7 with vmax. Wow. I'll be shooting these again in a few days in 5 rd groups to see if this is repeatable.
5rd vmax group at 200yd.
SSA 115gr OTM on top, Hornady 110gr BTHP on lower 2 at 100yd. SSA grouped about the same at 100 as 200yd. Only shot 110 BTHP at 100 today.
200yd target with vmax and SSA. I was very impressed with the vmax. I had 1 fail to feed with the BTHP and one SSA that would not chamber at all. I'll try the SSA and BTHP again to see if it was shooter related but they were not spectacular.
I am excited with the potential I saw today. These are just factory loads and that is pretty damn good especially given my shooting ability. Funny how when you improve one thing you notice others...My trigger sucks and a 3-9x40 VX-1 is not enough glass.
Thanks to ARP for a great product and great service.

Looks like a fine shooter. Wish I could get out and shoot, it has been raining here forever and I'm working 7-10's of night shift, ugh.
By the way, what did you wrap it with? I have been thinking about doing something like that for deer season.
It's http://www.sportsmanswarehouse.com/s...0133/cat110183 this stuff. Sticks to itself instead leaving adhesive on the gun. Pretty good protection for a nice wood stocked gun while hunting too. If it gets wet you want to get off though.
Shot the rest of the box of the Hornady BTHP 110's. Not bad but not great. Saw some vertical stringing at 200yd. Had another FTF. I loaded up 10 of the 110 vmax and did some rapid fire to see if it would hang up. No problems.
100yd 110gr BTHP
200yd BTHP
The real story is the 110 gr Vmax. 5 shot groups. Don't think I could beat them with hand loads.
Best group of 2 5 shot strings was a little under .6. The other one was a little less than an inch but it was my fault. I'm tickled pink. I have some 130gr VLD's and some 90gr TNT's on order to try out. I'll probably move that over to reloading when I get there. I've never had a rifle that will shoot like this and I am stoked!
SAWWEEETT!!Glad you decided on a 6.8!! Looks like you are too!!
Not sure about the minimum opening velocity for the 130VLD?

Looks like your gettin' her broken in nicely. How did you loose brass on that ground? Looks like a great place to shoot. It's hard to keep up with brass in the woods of east Texas and Arkansas.
Way to go Squirrel. Your groups are getting better all the time. Once you've developed your pet handload, try for a 10-shot group at 100 yds. Based on what you're seeing so far, this rig should be able to put 10 rounds into 1" CTC. Also, I think you'll find your rifle length buttstock and buffer delivers the most reliable functioning. It seems most of the 6.8 shooters reporting problems with ejection problems have carbine buttstocks. They have to fool around with extra heavy buffers and springs to get it right. - CW
