    Default Weight Savings

I have a Bison barrel 16" and was thinking about filling the tax stamp for a SBR. I was thinking about going 12.5 inch and was wondering what kind of weight saving would there be? Just wondering if it would be worth it or if I shold go lighter wieght barrel? The rifle weights at just over 9 lbs but the muzzle end it a little heavy.

I've also thought about getting the barrel contoured by ADCO. Has anyone had this service?

I've taken the custom contour road, but not by ADCO. I went with McGowen Precision Barrels and couldn't have been happier. No accuracy issues, fast turn around, and huge weight savings, BUT, my barrel is a 20" and I went pretty dramatic with the new profile, so there was a lot to work with. I lost just over 11 ounces, which was about 27% of the barrel weight.
