    Smile 6.8 SBR 12.5 inch

I have built several AR's including an SBR but now I would like to try a 12.5 inch 6.8 but I am having trouble finding a barrel is a good length. Any advise would also be helpful. I would love a supressor but they are not allowed in this state.

    +1, both make excellent product.

I have used both Noveske and WC, in the course of my business, and have been very happy with their product and CS.

ARP should be getting some 12.5" bbls soon. I almost have myself talked into a 6.8 SBR....

What do you mean, "almost"? Why wouldn't you do it? Then you'll need a suppressor to go with that SBR!

For the record, I have a Wilson Combat 11.3" barrel on my 6.8 pistol (tax stamp hasn't come yet).

Well I got a can on the way that will be perfect for 6.8(30P-1). My thoughts are since adding the can to my trust is going to be a PITA, might as well do a SBR in the process, lol. A 5.56 SBR would not make much sense since it doesn't preform well out of short bbls so a 6.8 will be it.

What kind of accuracy are ya'll getting with the 12.5" and 11.3" bbls?

I already took the plunge and ordered a custom 6.8 upper from ARP with 12.5" barrel. The only other place I considered was Noveske (I have a couple of Noveske 5.56mm products: an 18" SPR upper and a 16" Light Recce, SWITCHBLOCK rifle - very pleased). The quality of Harrison's work is pretty well documented on this forum. I opted to go with ARP because I prefer the durability and appearance of melonite (vs. SS) and because H has a solid reputation for quality - ARP has given major focus to 6.8x43. I figure the ARP 12.5" barrel will be a pretty hot ticket, and I don't imagine it was ordered in large quantity.

I have a NOVESKE Crusader 12.5" and the WC 11.3". Both are excellent and I wouldn't want to do without either. Using HTR's excellent handload info they are both killers (of predators) either suppressed or not. You will not be disappointed. Both companies have outstanding customer service as well.

I will agree with ARP and quality, he defintley knows the 6.8 well. I'm just looking to go a little bit shorter than 12.5 but I'm building one for sure.

Other than the barrels already mentioned, this is one of the best:
