Sounds like a plan. I dont have any idea when i'll get a chance to try mine out. Working 12hr days 6 & 7 days a week sucks!

Finding time to play around work is always the problem. UPS says mine has made it to Spokane(halfway ish) Should be right on time. The only problem is that it's dumping snow like crazy right now, and it's not supposed to stop till after I leave. Thus, we'll probably be testing new rigs at about the same time... stupid snow! I was looking forward to posting a bunch of pics of tiny little groups just to mess with ya! (a little pay back for the sunburn comment, LOL) The race is on!

It's here! I'm 110% impressed! Ben is an artist in ARs. But the DPMS lpk in my Spikes lower is junk. It's like a $2 saddle on a $500 horse... just doesn't do it justice. The trigger has a mile of creep and the bolt stop button is so bent that it catches on the bolt so badly that you can't get the charging handle to move 1/2in before it catches the bent button and makes hit the upper and stops the bolt from traveling back. I removed the bolt stop and tried to massage the button out enough to allow the bolt to move without the button striking the upper... as you are probably are aware... cast aluminum doesn't "bend"... it breaks. I had to grind off 2/3 of the button just to get the bolt to move freely. It makes it a pain in the ass, but at least I can get the bolt to cycle now. It'll work till the new one I just ordered to get here. The Spikes is great, the Bison is outstanding, but the DPMS is impressively bad. I hope to get a few rounds down it tomorrow. But I'm not expecting much till I can give her a good trigger,and get a propperly cast bolt stop. A huge thanks to Ben! He turns out a great product! And a huge F U to DPMS for making such a poor parts kit.

I tried the Spikes Enhanced LPK for my 6.8...I'm very pleased with it.

I should have done the same. I'm going to put a Geisselle trigger in it anyway, so I figured I'd go cheap on the rest of it. I kinda figured mil spec is mil spec... wrong. I'm gonna put it through the paces even though I have to use a little screw driver to push the bolt release. It'll be one shot=one clean for the first few rounds anyway, so it shouldn't be too annoying. I got the DPMS LPK locally, so I'll swing in and see if they'll swap me one off the shelf. The guys at Brass N Bullets have great customer service, so I'm hoping they will. Hopefully today will the end of my bad luck on this build.

Been discused several times in this forum. Just give her a good cleaning, lube her up good and shoot until your face hurts from the smile on your face. BTW, nice job on your build.

I'm not curious about break-in, but range etiquette. I've only been shooting about 5 times in the hills before.

Usually first rule is don't shoot anyone else.

After that it is arbitrary.

If your unsure whatever range you go to usually has a orientation or safety brief you have to attend before they allow you to use the range.

What area are you located in? Maybe someone is close by.
