Fancy lasers nothing! I could do that with a dremel in one hand and a beer in the other.
Great work and a clear example of the intricacy capable with their technology. It looks like you are only limited by imagination.
I stopped by Ident Marking during a business trip to Dallas and had them do a surface engraving on one of my lowers. Aside from being a fun group of guys to hang out with they also happen to do fine work and have excellent prices considering the fact that they use some pretty fancy lasers to do the engraving. I saw several samples of things they have engraved and I thought it would be a good idea to post some pictures of work that folks have had done.
Here's my 6.8 SBR lower, marked with my avatar. The pictures were taken with my cell phone camera so they aren't the best. I'm going to be taking some better pictures later but this is at least a start.

That is amazing.
Are they limited to flat surfaces only or could they do a whole rifle? My first thought when I seen some of their work was a complete camo job on a rifle.![]()
We are pretty much limited to a flat surface. We also have a limited marking field to worry about too. For Deep engraving its 3 in, and for a surface mark like above its 6 in. I will dig up some more sample pics.

For Bugg or Ident~ What are the image requirements for this sort of job and how is the pricing structured?
I'll let Ident comment on most of that but I will say that a "vector" file is needed for the engraving program. I don't know if that means it has to be a CAD file or something else but I was fortunate enough that someone did the conversion of my avatar to a vector file.
Also, I think Gordon might be able to create a vector file for you if you only have a jpg or other image format that doesn't include vector information. I'll let them say if they charge for that time and what else they have for a pricing structure.

We prefer a Vector graphic ie... DXF, AI, CDR file. We can also convert a JPEG image but it needs to be a clean image.

Thank you for the reply. Just tossing some things around right now, but that's good info that I'll keep on the front burner.
