    Talking Southeast Forum Shoot

When: Saturday, April 21. Shooting starts at 10:00 AM.
Where: Marion Road Gun Club, Macon, GA
How much: $20 ($5 non-refundable deposit, $15 on day of shoot)
    What:

    • Rifle match (Winner receives $150 gift certificate to Hamlund Tactical)
    • Range time at 100 and 200 yard lines
    • Shooting games
    • Demos
      • Ambush Firearms / Daniel Defense with multiple models
      • Bison Armory BSP model (available for purchase)
      • SR556/6.8
      • more to be announced

Thanks in advance to Marion Road Gun Club for hosting. This is a great little club with covered firing positions and clean grounds. Forum members will be entering in the club's monthly Centerfire Rifle Match. Please be sure to read the details and safety info HERE if attending, but this is the jist:
    • 20 rounds + sighters
    • At 100 yards, slow fire shooting from bench, sitting, and standing, and rapid fire from sitting
    • You probably have all the equipment you need if you have a semi-auto 6.8 rifle, but you will also need a chamber flag (available for purchase at match if you forget)
    • Optics and Irons in separate classes

At the conclusion of the match we will have free-shooting at paper targets (I will also have one hanging steel, you are welcome to bring yours). I am still planning some more specifics to make this enjoyable for everyone, but I wanted to get this out for all the members that expressed interest before. Since it is a 6.8 event, let's limit the match portion to 6.8 rifles, but feel free to bring whatever else you may want for free-shooting within the club's guidelines.

I look forward to meeting everyone!

Participation currently capped at 15. PM me for sign up.

Directions to range (just replace the "from" field with your info): http://g.co/maps/mtneq

If you need a hotel, the La Quinta in Macon is recommended.

Anyone interested in camping, I have a lease a little south of the range and could host Friday or Saturday nights (maybe work some hog hunting in).

No sweat, I understand. Hopefully this can be a success and become a regular thing. I would like to make it beneficial to the members, hosts, and forum supporters enough that we can be welcomed anywhere we ask and do it at different locations too.

Man I hope you have a great turn out. It would be cool herrings these going all over.
    You have the south.
We have Texas,OK basically the central. We need to get some going in the west.

I would try to make this one but that is the weekend of the Texas Multigun Championship. And I am shooting in that.

If you need any help let me know.

I was born in Boron (actually, on the Army Air Force base that was there before Edwards). I know there's plenty of room to shoot out that way!

We have some demos and sponsor involvement in the works. I will also have a chrony set up for anyone needing to clock their favorite loads.

    Current challenges:
Club Centerfire Match: 20 rounds, best score wins
200 yard offhand double-tap: 2 rounds, fastest time
200 yard standing to prone double-tap: 2 rounds, fastest time

Let me know what else you would like to see. There is the option of going to my hunting lease afterwards for either/or cook out, night hunt, camping.
