Admins/mods--Please tell me you are not going to delete his posts/threads & remove the wealth of knowledge EWP provided to this community. I understand that rules need to be enforced but I hope that the rest of us can still benefit from his experience with reloading the 6.8SPC.

Edit: I wasn't able to read the original explanation by 68WJ on my iphone for some reason which is why I posted my concern about his positive contribution remaining intact. It sucks that it came to that but it is what it is.

The majority of his posts are intact and will remain so.

No fear...As stated by 68WJ...his helpful posts will remain.

In fact...There has been some discussion that as part of EWP's POSITIVE legacy...that information he has provided in his posts will be condensed into a reloading sticky.
I believe chances of that happening are very high.

All of us have have learned more about reloading the 6.8 as a result of EWP being on the forum. What is so disheartening and sad is that the positive input he provided members could not overcome the negative issues that plagued him.

Moderators of this forum tried for nearly three years to convince EWP to keep his ego and disruptive attitude in check and allow him to continue to contribute to the forum. MULTIPLE second, third and forth chances were extended to him behind the scenes. For awhile he would improve and be a model forum member. Then he would return to old disruptive habits. After three years... a threshold was reached where it became obvious he was not going to change. In the end he was his own worst enemy.

It is important to remember that no one member, regardless of their contributions, is immune to disciplinary actions if they fail to abide by the forum guidelines established to make this forum professional, productive and helpful for all.

It is heartening to see that many of you appreciate that fact. In time, we would hope all members will better understand.

    300 AAC Blackout Chambering Cancelled:

Some time ago, Savage announced it would be chambering the Model 10 Precision Carbine in 300 AAC Blackout. Since that time, we have tested many variants of this cartridge in various barrel lengths and rates of twist. This exhaustive testing left us quite unsatisfied with the accuracy we were able to get from the subsonic loads in this chambering. Accuracy with the lighter, faster loads in this caliber was actually quite good. But we believe the real value in this cartridge lies in the use of subsonic loads for suppressed rifles. Therefore we have decided to scrap the project.
It is our understanding that pushing these heavy, slow bullets presents challenges not found in typical loadings and that our experience is not unique. Subsequently, many in the industry have simply adopted a lower standard for accuracy for these subsonic loads. While this does seem reasonable and we don't criticize any in our industry that have taken this approach, it just won't work for Savage.
Our brand was built on accuracy and we are too protective of our reputation for building the most accurate factory rifles available. We would rather walk away from this opportunity than sell a product that requires an explanation.

Its a shame that he had to be banned, but this forum, above so many others, has been civil, and professionally run from the start. EWP did contribute much reloading knowledge and I am able to say that most of it was not only accurate and responsible information, but often cutting edge, and even I learned some things from him.

While I wish him well, I also totally respect the outstanding way this forum has been run, and my hat is off to the moderators for their obvious efforts to keep him around, in spite of multiple recidivist dust ups.

Kudos, guys for agreeing to keep his reloading info as a sticky.

Sad to see this...but, this site would turn into barfcom if it weren't for the way it is mod'd.

Props to the mods on how this was handled. Sad to see, but if it had to be ...

The attitude and professionalism of the regular participants and moderators of this board make it one of the best on the web.

BTW, Kerry, you sound like a moderator there ... heheh.

I'm a mod on a preparedness forum, and it tend to draw the fruits and nuts on occasion. Swinging the ban hammer isn't a decision that's easy to make, but when the rules are broken, and multiple warnings issued, hammer time. I've been doing a ton of reading, and learning my new toy by leaps and bounds. Yes, finding a decent AR-anything forum is tough.....especially among mall ninjas and tacticool operators.

The mods did what they had to do. That decision is respected. At least his wealth of knowledge will remain.

EWP, while annoying had some useful info, we ban him but not Stan or silvers, who constantly start silly arguments?
