The filter is used to hide the backsplash on the users face and reduces the 'night blindness' that NV users can experience when they remove their NV equipment. It also acts as a demist/protective shield for the optics in the eyepiece. It does reduce the brightness output on the NV device to some degree so its up the users choice. We supply it in our PVS-14's as an accessory, nice to get a little more when you are spending good money. The run time on the AA is 24 hours- alkaline batteries are fine- just don't forget to remove them if you store the monocular for an extended period.

Around $60- includes cleaning and purging the mono.

Hey, glad to hear you like the DLOC-PVS. I really feel like that if you are going from helmet to gun with a PVS-14 the DLOC-PVS is hands down the fastest QD mount out there. It was designed that way because despite the variety of QD mounts being available none of them were fast enough. Then again we're probably biased- we designed it, lol. In any case, i'm glad your happy with it.

I got one of those DLOCK mounts for mine. It sure beats screwing it onto the weapon mount at night. I think the top three add ons for my PVS14 are the 3x magnifier the DLOCK then the IR laser in that order.

    Default Night Vision

Just wanted to put in a good word for the Ident crew. These guys will make sure you get a quality product and service. I haven't bought a pvs 14 yet, but the product demo they gave me was second to none! I am buying in the near future.

    Thanks,

    Alex R.

Assuming my baby isn't delivered before Friday, I plan on ordering my PVS-14 by the end of the week. If my little girl gets here a bit early then I'll wait a couple of weeks.

It will happen soon though. I have literally been dreaming about hunting pigs for the past few weeks. I need a hunting trip soon... Or therapy!
