Download Tapatalk app. Besides being best for forum library, you can post pics from IPad. Love it. I think it is 3.99. Worth it. I am on many forums for different genres. Tapatalk makes it so fluid.

Stroker you really did do a great job and the rifle is very unique. When you painted the receivers did you mask them off to keep paint from getting on the inside of the receivers or just avoid the areas well.

I've used Duracoat before and it is a nice product and I intend to use it more in the future. Something I did was paint a coat then use the blow dryer on it to help with the cure between coats.

    Thank you sfs,
I did not mask the receivers off when spraying, just tried to avoid certain areas. I did however mask off the inside of the handguard because I figured it being uniform black would look better than a possible spotty FDE.(going with the FDE w/ black accent anyway) I have function tested everything to make sure no duracoat filled up anything it should not have, but the true test will come this weekend when I take her out to the range.
I've seen a lot of people talking about the light coats and blowdrying to keep a flatter finish, I will probably do that next time. This being my first full build and first duracoat job I know I will be learning tips and tricks for my next one.

I've used the duracoat spray kits and will do more in the future. I've also sprayed plastics and it bonds very well to them, so when it comes to trying to match, I'm not so much bothered by that - I may blend into the FDE furniture or paint the entire piece.

Looks great what you've done so far!
I like my women just a little on the trashy side - but my rifles are squeaky clean!

Equalizer - Is it just the camera, or did the scope, GB, and FH come out a bit darker? What technique did you use to mask off the scope ends? You should shoot your mags too! Nice Job!

Stroker - that's one sa-weet looking boom stick! Now I'm REALLY itching to get my new ARP upper in!

It is not just the camera the darker parts were done with OD Green. I masked them off and shot them after the Coyote was cured. For the scope ends, I used masking tape again but cut it so it ended up just covering the lens like a lens cap would. I wanted just a bit of contrast.

    What's the difference between Aluma-Kote II & Aluma-Hyde II?
