Guess what? I am a 6.8 newbie too!

This is my first post. I have a bare lower laying around that is destined to become a 6.8 SPC.

However, I want too make sure I am building a quality, but affordable 6.8 (Sorry, my last build totally nearly 2K and I cannot do that again for a while :mrgreen: ). The purpose of this one will before basic target shooting and maybe my Go-to AR if need be.

I am looking at The Rock River Mid-length upper. However, it does not appear they offer a chrome lined one as of yet.

The area where I am uneducated is twist. I have heard that 1:10 twist is not a good one, but that seems to be what many barrels come in. Why does everyone use this twist if it cannot handle certain loads? How much does it matter?

The 1 in 10 twist is the default from the original specification. That specification had a number of faults due to some sloppy work on the part of the originating company.
